Policies
Besides discussing the methodological and substantive findings of the teams’ research programmes into specific homeless population, this network proposes to discuss the way their research was framed by the predominant policy question they pursued. The network is therefore interested in policy questions in relation to the research agenda.
Because of this variability in policy issues raised in different European national states, national homelessness research has pursued a range of research questions (substance misuse and homelessness, mental ill-health and homelessness, street homelessness, youth homelessness, migrant homelessness, hidden homelessness, housing deprivation...) and used different research methodologies to reach policy decisions.
Therefore CUHP seeks to share with other researchers, policy makers and NGOs providing services for the homeless:
This includes the work of research teams engaged in studies of reinsertion programmes, some of which have been undertaken with their national NGOs.
In the first workshop members of NGOs from France raised particular policy questions they wanted to address and research teams from CUHP described particular studies that they had made that answered some of the questions that were raised.
During the discussion on Definitions of homelessness several research teams described the policy context in which research took place.
